Types of models?

Stacks Image 6
When the word model is used to describe a person we tend to think of a fashion model. However any person used in a photograph for advertising is a model. A model is selected because they have an appearance that accents the style of the photograph. Not all advertising wants to use beautiful people, some want healthy types or off beat cute types. A model is any person who rents out their personal appearance for use in media.

Agents are the sales force behind models. They don't chase after jobs for models. Instead they select models who attract jobs. How does a new model attract jobs? Well its complicated and its a process that has been going on for decades. Agents collect a cut of the models earnings and they want a model to work right away and repeatedly.

Clients are those that hire models. They include magazines, dept. stores, ad agencies and dozens more. They are investing big bucks in their advertising programs and they are not interested in wasting money on wanna be models. That is why they use agents. Using an agent to filter out un trained or washed up models saves the clients thousands of dollars. Clients only call agents that have proven track records. It takes years for a client to trust an agent. Get the picture? Modeling is an industry not a hobby. Are you ready to be a real model? Fox Island can guide you to success.
